FM 557 - 559 : Elephants of Krabi

March 2011

I bought these cute shiny elephants at one of the shops selling pretty ornaments (read: stuff you don't need) by the Aonang Beach.

It is quite unfortunate that they are not that cheap but well, I can be greedy and want to buy a lot of things in bulk, especially if they are cute.

I bought them in a set of five and I am keeping them in this set. Let's call it a triplet :)

Krabi has wonderful beaches, especially if one goes island hopping. The water, the sky, the greens. It made you drop your jaw most of the time.

FM 534 - 535: Hard Rocking In Sentosa

1 June 2011

Here are two more Hard Rock Cafe in my collection. Freshly bought.

One is from the Hard Rock Hotel where we stayed during our trip to Sentosa recently.

The other one was purchased at the Hard Rock Cafe at The Forum, which is actually just behind the hotel.

FM 528 - 530: USS Crazy Rides

30 May 2011

We went to Universal Studios Singapore for the very first time on Monday 30 May 2011. It was quite a good trip. Kinda warm. OK, hot, actually. But more importantly, it was not raining. That'll spoil our day but no, it was warm. Hot, I mean.

One of favourite rides was Revenge of the Mummy. We went on it twice. And later, I shopped for some new fridge magnets.

Come to think of it, I have not taken the pics of the fridge magnets from USS which Izwan bought early last year, before the park was open to public. Oh well, let's be up to date and showcase the new ones:

FM 527: Jurassic Park

30 May 2011

We went to Universal Studios Singapore. One of the better looking rubber fridge magnets is from the shops at Jurassic Park area. It is a photo frame too.

It can even stand on its own.

I bought this quite a while ago and it was shiny and pretty. But quality wise, after a year, the shine fade, I guess must the interacxtion with air and H2O stuff.

I might as well post this on,e since I posted Burger King. Got them at Pavilion KL. I asked for 2, intending to give one to GH. Never did, coz she got herself some several weeks later ! But I'll put here as just one item; coz I am not sure where the one I kept for her has gone to. Probably McD, to join the lost BK ones. Ha ha

All Is One in Bali

This is a Hard Rock Cafe original fridge magnet. It cost me a bomb, really; it's like RM45 or something like that - but heck, I do have the intention of having a set of HRCs.

We got this in Bali during our second vacation there. The one that we went with my parents, siblings & aunts.

Animals in a moss? They are, after all, from Lumut. Despite two of these says "Pangkor" but I really did buy them in Lumut.
I was very greedy, I took all of the different animals fridge magnets on sale.
These magnets are actually clips, so you can slip up papers.

Reaching the Sky

The skyscrapers are defuinitely reaching for the sky. Here are two "wooden" fridge magnets I bought at Pavilion recently. They are products of Arch, I think quite a number of people have heard of them. The magnets and the pictures they depicted are cut using laser, so I was told. That is why he precision can be obtained.

Another Balinese

Another Bali magnet. This time, the porcelain fridge magneto depicts hindu temples, padi terrace and surfing. It was a breathe of fresh air, after seeing only wooden fridge magnets as I went from Kuta to Tegalalang to Ubud etc.

This is yours truly @ Tanah Lot.

Revisit : #5

REVISIT!!!

This is one more magnet that is revisited. It is a picture frame, a Disneyland Anaheim original. I bought it in 2006 during our family trip in November. Again, one of my favourites.

I have taken more pictures from differenet angles. Yes, it is a rubber magnetto, in case you are wondering. Kalau ada rezeki, teringin nak bawak anak-anak ke situ lagi. Izwan & I have been there twice, but a third time won't hurt, right?

Vase Overhead

I have witnessed how Balinese ladies carried their offerings on their heads. It was Hari Raya Galungan and so many of them, dressed in sort of short kebaya top & kain batik. They were ontheir way to the temple.

These two fridge magnets were purchased there. They are rubber fridge magnets, and I was so thrilled when I found them in a mall in Kuta. I should have bought more, since I was on "fridge magnet on credit card" shopping spree but I realised this a little too late (thank goodness, I suppose). Anyway, they only have four designs, so it was good that I bought one of each.

#293#294

I will post pictures of the other 2 designs. I am reserving one for one grad student in UK and the other, I gave it to GH as a present. As for now:

Which fridge magnet can you get at Disneyland in Anaheim? The original merchandise, please?

This momma and her two kids bought this lovely one in Disneyland, Anaheim in 2006. See how tiny Hafiz was back then?

They bought this baby:

TLC, please!

another Sarawak warrior shield. And this one is very very fragile. IT is made out of wood, a thin one, carved with machince. Unless it is handled fairly carefully, the intricate design may fall off. I bought similar one for my mom and yup, it fell off soon after they were given to her.

It needs lots of tender loving care!

Pewter Shield

This is a typical Sarawak warrior shield. I do not know which ethnic group it belongs to, all I know is that this is made our of pewter and purchased along the road across the Sarawak River.
