Globbing London

.
To avoid further confusion, this is another snow globe from London. This one was purchased through my acquiantance Imran who went all over UK last year. And some parts of Europe too.
.
.
This is one of the fridge magnets Imran allowed me to buy off him; pursuant to my FB message to him since he announced that he was going travelling.

Snow In London

.
Ah.. this is what I don't like about procrastinating doing this blog.
I forget. I had to check and re-check as to the origin of this one.
.
Lucky thing I manage to differentiate between this and the other quarter globes that I have. This is the one I bought from Nazatul. It cost me RM28. A friend who resides in London commented that it is pricey since it is only one and a half pound at a souvenir shop. Sheesh. But well, I wanted it, and I got it.
But the thrill of it is not as good as getting it from a friend, or a pesan-memesan system through someone who goes overseas.

Top Flight Rugby Team

.
.TThis is a specialty magnet. Osprey is a rugby team, based in Swansea in Wales. My friend and fellow fridge magnet collector, Mrs Wood a.k.a Knot a.k.a. Edryna gave this as a prezzie when we met for thr first time back in December last year.

It features theteam's mascot and it's pink too! If you check the team's website, its all black and very macho. The players are super macho too. It is kinda contradicting but hey, who is com, plaining about drool-able macho guys in tight black jerseys?

Hooded and Bronzed

.
.
All the way from Nottingham!! yay!!

I am such a lucky girl! I hot this one from Doodlemom, the kind generous friend of mine who buys me FM whenever she travels. Even within her area (maybe she knows that the chances of me stepping to her residential area is very minimal tsk tsk*)

And it's Robin Hood. You know, that 'steal-from-the-rich-and-give-to-the-poor' fella from Sherwood Forest? Yeah,. everyone remembers him as Kevin Costner.

Isn't this awesome? Thanks Mrs Wood.

This is one of the rare ones that I did buy from a fridge magnet seller online. Not much story behind it tho.
That is the reason why, as much as I can, I'd like to not buy online again.

Tea With Jam and Cream, Anyone?

Hmmmhh hmmmhh yummie yummie. Care to sit and have tea with me? The food certainly look delicious!

Sort of a side profile. It's 2D so naturally, it's precious.

Now I am thinking - if I ever going to get Nik Yurni to bake me something (blueberry gateux, perhaps?). Maybe it would require us all to go to Nottingham. Insya Allah, kalau ada rezeki kan?

Cornwall: Pie or Pasty

This one is cute. The pasty is attached with the spring so you can:
shake it, shake it. Pasty is different from pies. It is made by placing the filling on a flat pastry shape, usually a circle, and folding it to wrap the filling, crimping the edge to form a seal. The result is a raised semicircular package.
The traditional Cornish pasty is filled with beef, sliced potato, turnip and onion and baked.

Care to have one?

She Bakes Well

Bakewell is small market town in the Derbyshire Dales district of Derbyshire, England, deriving its name from 'Badeca's Well'. However, I must add that the lady who gave me this fridge magnets bakes really really well.

Cider House Rules

Cider House Rules, but really, nothing to do with Tobey Macguire, Charlize Theron or Micheal Caine.
Instead, it is of Cornwall origin, and thanks to Nik Yurni, the cider is now in my house, but on my fridge door, rather than inside the fridge.
It is a semi cylinder shape, emulating a cider bottle, complete with an apple. And it dazzles, without the need for rhinestones!

Ice Cream In Corn

Mevagissey is a town in the centre of Cornwall. I have seen pictures of it, those taken by Nik Yurni as well as on the net. Good example can be seen here: Click.

I think it is a picturesque town. Where Nik got me this icecream:

Love From London

Doodlemom often gave me fridge magnets. She must be thinking of me during her trips all over UK. She got me so many! Including this one, which I received through Kakak in March this year.

Isn't it awesome? Best giler! Thank you Doodlemom. Your are definitely one of the major contributors!

By the way, you are right, Angels & Demons is very interesting. I saw it last night, Izwan and I went dating :-)

I guess we'll now have to get the book!

Glen Coe Skyline

Nik Yurni gave me this one. She went for a Scottish holiday last year; and one of the places she visited was Glencoe.

Wikipedia says that Glen Coe (Scottish Gaelic: Gleann Comhann) is a glen in the Highlands of Scotland. It lies in the southern part of the Lochaber committee area of Highland Council, and was formerly part of the county of Argyll. It is often considered one of the most spectacular and beautiful places in Scotland, and is a part of the designated National Scenic Area of Ben Nevis and Glen Coe.

I always admire Scottish panoramic view. Something like the one below, Three Sisters are on the left, Anoach Eagach on the right and Beinn Garbh on the horizon.
I think the pic below (a close up of the magnet) is of the Pass of Glencoe.
It is only an hour or so by car from Oban, the Pass of Glencoe (in Gaelic the "glen of weeping")is seen here brooding under a glowering sky. This was the scene of the infamous massacreof the Macdonalds of Glencoe by Campbell of Glen Lyon following a signal from the SignalRock nearby at dawn in mid-winter of 1692. Campbell's soldiers, who had been billetedwith the Macdonalds rose and slaughtered their hosts - men, women and children.Over 40 were slain and many others who escaped to the hills died of exposure.

Sad story, I know. But a happy one for me, because:

Avon but Not the Beauty Shop

This is the house where Shakespeare lived. It's in a town called Stratford-upon-Avon. It is also known as 'Shakespeare country'. Most of the associated with the great man lie within few kilometers of the town.
And ta-da!!!
A fridge magnet featuring the old house.

I kept the plastic until the above pic was taken. And now it's kinda togel, la.
