Ride With Me

one of the cutest I have. It is a micro rickshaw, really. If you have the gadget like they have in the movie "Honey. I Shrunk The Kids", you can beam a real life rickshaw into this.

Izwan bought it in Hong Kong last year.

One World One Dream

I wanted the Olympic Fuwa so badly, I was about to buy them online. And then Izwan was given an assignment to Hong Kong and he told me to wait as he'll try to find it there. After all, Hong Kong IS part of China.

And he found it! Yes! Yes! Yes! Original mechandise. See the box? Packaging is really cool.

Goofy & Gang

Onn just came back from Hong Kong last week and as a good friend, I was unashamed to tell him I want a fridge magnet from Disneyland Hong Kong. He bought me this:

It is the very same one that Mailisa got me and Yusof got me. Yusof went overboard and got me two of them. I blogged about them earlier (click
here), they were number 75 and 76 accordingly.

However, I gave one of them to my childhood friend Wong Su Luan in early April 2009 which automatically eliminated the existence of number 76. So, I will number this magnet as "76" to replace the one given out. It was supposed to be #283, but nevermind. I want an accurate calculation!

That's me with Onn and Izlina.

Hong Kong Skyline

Hong Kong at night:

Renowned for its expansive skyline and natural setting, Hong Kong is one of the world's leading
financial capitals, a major business and cultural hub, and maintains a highly developed capitalist economy. Its identity as a cosmopolitan centre where east meets west is reflected in its cuisine, cinema, music and traditions, and although the population is predominantly Chinese, residents and expatriates of other ethnicities form a small but significant segment of society.

Izwan got me this rectangle fridge magnet when he went to HK last year. You know, the one where his flight got delayed as there was a typhoon.

Rockaferry

At the Star Ferry Pier in Hong Kong, ferries depart the pier, located at Tsim Sha Shui, to Hong Kong Island's Central or Wanchai. Izwan and I have been in several of these ferries, as it was (still is, I think) one of the most convenient, cheapest and classic ways of enjoying Victoria Harbour.

Unfortunately, back then, in 2001 (we were there during Hari Raya Aidil Adha and Natasha was merely 6 months old - tak pe, bawak jugak!!) I wasn't much of a magnet collector. So, to make up for lost time (or lost opportunities, rather), Izwan bought this one for me during his trip to Hong Kong in 2008.

It is a mini ferry - with a magnet attached to it.

Isn't it cool!? The miniature is quite detailed, complete with tiny ropes.

Lobster Crossing the Tramway Track

As you may already know, Izwan went to Hong Kong last month and got me the Beijing Olympics 2008 magnets. But that wasn't the only magnets he bought me, there is this one too:

It just says "Hong Kong" there but I suspect it is actually the tramway towards The Peak in Hong Kong. In order to have that view in the background, one will have to be at The Peak... which gently reminded me of our HK trip in 2001 - Tasha was 6 months old and we celebrated Hari Raya Aidiladha there - no ketupat but hey hey, grilled salmon dinner!

Plus, if you check out this website of the Peak's Tramways, you will notice that the picture is similar!

See? Except that on the magnet, there is something that looks suspiciously like a LOBSTER ..... trying to cross the tramway track ! Hey, watch out! Lobster crosses the road!!

I think its hilarious how this lobster meets its death. Sorry, it's pathetic but when I pointed it out to Izwan and our children, everybody laughed out loud. Poor poor lobster! How the heck did it climb up all the way there? Funny lor how these magnets-making people drawing their stuff!

Lisa and her family went to Hong Kong for a break. And they stayed at one of the hotels in Disneyland; and got me a couple of magnets. This is a picture frame, XL size compared to most of the magnets in my collection. It is so colourful!

Here's a pic of the family on vacation. It's kinda blur, coz I snapped a pic of a printed picture :-)

By the way, I was told that Kusha loved the High School Musical parade at Disneyland. Habis la you Lisa, the ice skating version is coming to Malaysia... and tickets are not cheap!!

Hongkie Skyline

Izwan went to Macau through Hong Kong in 2006. And of course, during the stop over, he managed to buy some HK magnets, although apparently in Macau, the shops do not seem to sell this as a souvenir.

This one shows the skyline of HL city centre and you can see the prominent landmarks: including the very prominent Bank of China Tower (right behind the alphabet "K") above. See smaller pic here.

We went to Hong Kong in March 2001, Tasha was only 6 months old. It was Hari Raya Haji. But Izwan was sent to work, and I grabbed the opportunity to tag along. We stayed at the posh Conrad International.

I got four Disneyland Hong Kong magnest; two pairs of twins, to be exact.
All thanks to En Yusof. Here they are:
But as for magnet number 75, it is this particular one:
But since I have two of them I have to number them accordingly, thus: 75 and 76 la:
And peace sign from En Yusof (the specky one) here with En Dzul.

Spot The Difference

Please spot the differences between the magnet A (above) and magnet B (below). How many differences can you spot?

Oh, now you gonna say that they're actually one and the same and I only changed the background colour to confuse you. That's an excuse for someone who:

(1) cannot spot any differences; or

(2) too lazy to try and spot any differences.

To tell you the truth, I didn't try spotting any differences between the two, athough I assure you they are two different fridge magnets! Kenapa, tak percaya ke? As proof:

# 48 and #49.

These magnets were souvenirs En Yusof bought for "The Bintulu Team". Before he went to Hong Kong, he told us about it and offered to get us t-shirts. t was then that I revealed what a fridge magnet freak I am and asked if mine can be in the form of FMs inteads.

He bought all of us the same thing! I got a total of four, actually.

Kong the Hong

# 28

Izwan bought this magnet during his trip to Macau in 2006. He went to quite a number of countries that year! I don't have any Macau magnet to show off, unfortunately. But fortunately, Izwan travelled through Hong Kong; thus he got me this one. I have a Las Vegas magnet which is somewhat similar.

I so like to claim we got this during our trip to Hong Kong in 2001; when Tasha was just 6 months old and we celebrated hari raya haji there. But nah, gotta stick with the truth!
